LGA Spending Review submission reveals care services at risk of closing

Carers Trust

Responding to the publication of the Local Government Associations 2015 Spending Review submission, Dr Moira Fraser, Director of Policy and Research at Carers Trust, said:

“The Local Government Association has made clear its concern about  the state of council finances and the impact on social care and on services for some of the most vulnerable people and the people who care for them. Cuts to council funding is putting these services under immense pressure, threatening some with closure. Like the LGA we urge the Government to support councils by giving them the finances they need to ensure that anyone who is in need in their community receives the support they deserve.”
