Coca-Cola Enterprises celebrates Peterborough employee in new regional advert.

A local resident and Team Leader at Coca-Cola Enterprises’ Peterborough Business Support Centre will feature in regional advertising, launching next week on 19th November.

The advertising campaign celebrates the company’s heritage as a local business focusing on the people that help the manufacturer to produce and sell some of the country’s most popular soft drinks brands.

Team Leader Vicky Sahota, who lives in Peterborough, took part in a photo shoot at the contact centre and will become the third of CCE’s ‘Local Heroes’ to feature in the Made in GB campaign, which launched in September this year. Two young apprentices from CCE’s East Kilbride factory featured in the first instalment of the adverts and the series will continue over the course of the year and into 2016, involving workers from across CCE’s various sites in Great Britain.

The advert spotlighting Peterborough will roll out in November across regional media and will also offer first-hand insight from Vicky on what it is like to work for a global brand, based locally within Peterborough.

Vicky has worked at the Business Support Centre for two years, working her way up through the business to the role of Team Leader. She manages a team of sales representatives, working closely with CCE’s independent retail customers to provide them with the products and services they need. Vicky’s role also involves a strong focus on helping the career development of her team members, providing them with the resources and support they need to achieve their personal goals. Having received similar support during her career at the company, Vicky wanted to become involved in the campaign to raise awareness of CCE’s role within the local Peterborough community.

Vicky Sahota, Team Leader at Coca-Cola Enterprises, Peterborough comments: “My experience as an employee at Coca-Cola Enterprises has been extremely positive and ever since joining, I’ve felt fully supported to achieve my own career goals through training and encouragement from the rest of the team along the way. There are a large number of different initiatives and projects which the local team here have the chance to get involved with, such as working for charitable causes. I feel proud to be a part of this campaign. Many local people might not realise that a brand like Coca-Cola has a presence here, so it’s great to help showcase our work.”

Kevin Bannigan, Associate Director at Coca-Cola Enterprises, Peterborough, said: “We are extremely proud to be a truly local business in Peterborough and have close ties with the community. I’m delighted that Vicky has had the opportunity to be involved in a campaign that celebrates this as well as her important role in the fabric of the contact centre.  The new advert underlines our ongoing commitment to the Peterborough area and I hope it also acts as inspiration for other local people like Vicky to consider the potential career opportunities at Coca-Cola Enterprises available right on their doorstep.”

Vicky Sahota joined Coca-Cola Enterprises in August 2013 and lives locally in Peterborough. She began her career with the business in rural sales, working with customers based in remote locations, before moving to become a senior sales representative with larger customers including universities and hospitals. She was promoted to the role of Team Manager in April 2015, which involves managing a team of sales representatives working with independent retailers.

In her current role, Vicky has the opportunity to work closely with individual team members to help them follow the career path they want, providing them with resources, training and support to achieve their own personal development objectives.

Vicky hopes to have a chance to move around within the business, gaining experience at some of CCE’s other sites and offices across other areas of the business and is particularly interested in working with CCE’s supermarket customers. She hopes that other local people will see the new advertisements and that they help drive awareness of the work CCE is doing to support people in her region.
