NIA respond to the Prime Minister's pledge to ensure wind power will provide enough electricity to run every UK home within a decade.

“It is good to see that the government is beginning to focus on what is required to meet net zero.

"While re-stating the manifesto commitment to more offshore wind is a start, it does not address the need for zero emissions firm power identified and quantified by the Committee on Climate Change to support weather dependent wind.

"The majority of our electricity today still comes from burning fossil fuels: net zero means more zero carbon electricity, so we need wind and nuclear to make our climate ambition a reality.”
