NIA welcomes ONR annual report

Commenting on the publication of the Office for Nuclear Regulation’s annual accounts and statement, Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive, Nuclear Industry Association, said: 


“The nuclear sector takes its duty of care for employees and the public very seriously and I’m pleased to see that a high standard of safety and security has been achieved. The ONR has a wide remit, independently regulating all sites across generation and decommissioning as well as managing the assessment process for new reactor types.

“Over the coming years, this will be a very ambitious programme of work, but we have confidence that the ONR will continue to provide strong leadership in its duties and the industry as a whole will continue to promote sustained high levels of safety culture.”
