Prime Minister celebrates police bravery

The Prime Minister David Cameron and Minister for Policing Mike Penning celebrated the bravery of 66 police officers at a special reception hosted at 10 Downing Street today.

Officers from 31 forces around the country attended the reception (pictured) as a mark of recognition for their heroic acts.

Prime Minister David Cameron said:

“The Police Bravery Awards are an important opportunity for us to recognise, celebrate and thank our most courageous officers.

“I’m immensely proud to be Prime Minister of a country that has such men and women enforcing our laws.”

Following the reception at Downing Street officers are due to gather at the gala awards dinner this evening where their acts of bravery will be further celebrated among dignitaries and guests and winners announced.
