The Satellite Applications Catapult appoints Will Hutton as Non-Executive Director to its Board
The Satellite Applications Catapult, one of a network of unique UK technology and innovation centres established by the Technology Strategy Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Will Hutton as a Non-Executive Director to its Board.
Will is currently Principal of Hertford College, a constituent college of the University of Oxford, and Chair of the Big Innovation Centre – an initiative from The Work Foundation (formerly the Industrial Society), having been Chief Executive of The Work Foundation from 2000-2008.
Previously, Will has enjoyed a successful media career in television and radio. He spent ten years working for the BBC as economics correspondent for their flagship Newsnight programme, and also held the positions of Editor-in-Chief at The Observer newspaper, and Director of the Guardian National Newspapers. Will is also a successful author of influential works such as 'The State We’re In' and 'The World We’re In', and holds an honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) from Bristol University.
Tim Sherwood, Chair of the Satellite Applications Catapult, who appointed Will, said, “We are thrilled that Will has agreed to join our Catapult Board. Will is our fourth Non-Exec Director, bringing depth of knowledge and experience in both the media and economic environments. His role, along with the other Non-Execs, will be to help the Executive Team develop the Catapult into a world-class centre for the development and commercial exploitation of space and satellite-based products, services and applications. I look forward to welcoming Will to the next Board meeting.”
