Transcending these difficult times

APPG for the Packaging Manufacturing Industry Secretariat | The Packaging Debate

1 min read Partner content

The power of packaging to innovate for society’s benefit has recently seen an impressive demonstration by Transcend Packaging.

The Caerphilly-based company recently put its shoulder to the product design and innovation wheel; switching up a section of its production capability to make millions of new and disposable face shields.

Most Transcend business to date has been seen in the Government/NHS sector.  Transcend currently sees a growing market in business, commerce and society at large as the world attempts to get back to work, post-Covid 19.

Transcend Managing Director and long-standing Packaging Federation member, Lorenzo Angelucci, says that ‘we wanted to create a product that could be used right across the population. Our face shields are an effective, inexpensive CE marked alternative to other PPE items and provide an extra level of protection that is suitable for medical settings, employees returning to work and the general public as they go about their daily lives.’

The project received support from Life Sciences Hub Wales, which manages all initial business enquiries for NHS Wales.
