Unicef launches child trafficking petition UNICEF UK 1 min read20 February 2014 Partner content UNICEF UK has today launched a petition on child trafficking, which calls on the Home Secretary to ensure children are at the heart of the Modern Slavery Bill. At least ten children are trafficked into the UK every week to face violence, exploitation and abuse, the physical and psychological scars of which can last a lifetime. We strongly welcome the proposed Modern Slavery Bill and believe it has the potential to transform the lives of trafficked children, and those at risk of trafficking, in the UK and set a gold standard for this type of legislation globally.
