In response to the story of Robbie Clark, a 96-year-old war hero who has won his bid to be allowed to stay in his own home, Janet Morrison, Chief Executive of older peoples charity, Independent Age, said:

“We are delighted to hear the case has been resolved and that Mr Clark will be able to stay in his own home. It highlights that the wellbeing of an individual is paramount. It should also be a reminder that in fact councils now have a duty under the new Care Act to always consider an individual’s wellbeing when they make decisions about where someone wants to receive their care.”
