This 100th edition of BarTalk marks an important 100 years. Kicking off the centenary year of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, which first allowed women to practise as lawyers, we are devoting all of this edition’s content to our drive to celebrate and shape ‘the next 100 years’ for women at the Bar. Celebrating the First 100 Years
The First 100 Years is a ground-breaking history project, supported by the Bar Council, CILEx and the Law Society, charting the journey of women in law since 1919. The project is powered by Spark21, a charity founded to celebrate, inform and inspire future generation of women in the profession. Read more here.
