The Metropolitan Police have arrested a man in relation to fires at London homes linked to the Prime Minister.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and remains in custody.
In the early hours of Monday, emergency services responded to a fire at Starmer's private home in the Kentish Town area in north London.
The front door of the property was damaged, but no one inside the house was hurt.
Starmer now lives in Downing Street after winning the general election in July.
The Prime Minister has rented his north London house out since moving into No 10, according to reports, and it has been targeted by protesters since he moved out.
Police are also investigating whether fires that happened last week at a car and another property linked to Starmer are connected to the incident at his Kentish Town home on Monday.
A spokesperson for the Met said: "As a precaution and due to the property having previous connections with a high-profile public figure, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation into this fire.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish what caused it."
