Membership of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) today soared past the 10,000 mark following support from a leading payroll and human resources service provider, Ceridian, effectively doubling membership of the Institute over the past 18 months.
The announcement means that every Ceridian employee in the UK is now a CIPP member.
Ceridian works closely with the CIPP - the Chartered Institute for payroll and pensions professionals in the UK – and is currently the main sponsor of the CIPP’s annual payroll and pension’s conference, set to take place at Celtic Manor Resort in Wales on 8 9 October 2015.
Mr Lindsay Melvin, Chief executive officer at the CIPP, said: “This is fantastic news and we’re delighted our excellent relationship with Ceridian continues to go from strength to strength. Ceridian is an organisation that really supports the ethos of the CIPP, in helping to lead payroll and pensions professionals through education, membership and recognition. We’re looking forward to working with staff at Ceridian over the coming weeks and months to help them get the most from their CIPP membership and as an organisation we’re incredibly excited about the future.”
Associate director of marketing and membership at the CIPP, Vickie Moss, added: “We’re delighted to see our membership soar past the 10,000 mark and this is testament to the excellent relationship that we’re proud to have with Ceridian. As a global brand, Ceridian is a leading light in both payroll and human resources and it’s a significant mark of intent as to how respected the CIPP continues to be to the payroll profession, following this announcement.”
Established in 1965, Ceridian has five office locations in both the UK and Ireland. Having been highly commended in the CIPP Payroll and Pensions Excellence Awards last year, this announcement marks a significant investment by Ceridian in its staff working across both the payroll and human resources sector.
This recent announcement also follows Ceridian’s involvement in the CIPP’s apprenticeship programme, helping to train the payroll stars of tomorrow.
Ceridian’s Managing director of the UK and Ireland, Doug Sawers, added: “As a leading payroll technology and services company, it is important we invest in our colleague’s development and give them the tools and resources they need to provide the best quality service to our customers. They are passionate about keeping up to date with payroll legislation, news and trends and the CIPP provides a great range of resources that will enable them to do that. I am pleased to continue our strong relationship with the CIPP and would like to congratulate them on reaching the 10,000 mark.”
