Rebecca Hilsenrath, Chief Executive at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said:

“Child migrants are amongst the most vulnerable and powerless in our society. Everyone has the same fundamental human rights and children especially need support to be able to enforce those rights or they become meaningless. We welcome this extension of Legal Aid coverage and hope that the government will be able to move quickly to offer protection to those in the next generation who need it.”
