Fund net retail sales at highest level since April 2011

The Investment Management Association (IMA) today publishes its monthly authorised investment fund statistics for July 2013:

• Net retail sales reached £2.2 billion, the highest since April 2011
• Funds under management reached record levels at £744 billion
• Equity continued as the best-selling asset class with net retail sales of £1.4 billion – the highest since December 2010
• Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares remained the best-selling sector

Daniel Godfrey, IMA Chief Executive, said:

“We saw strong net retail sales in July, surpassing £2 billion for the third time this year, with the largest part of this net investment going into equity funds.

“Global equity funds were the best-selling, with equity funds invested in the UK, North America and Europe also doing well.”
