HSBC and Dumfries and Galloway Council have obtained the prestigious Payroll Quality Partnership (PQP) accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP).

The Chartered Institution is also pleased to announce that Armstrong Watson, Arqiva, North Bristol NHS Trust and the John Lewis Partnership have all been re-accredited. In addition, Shropshire Council, Cascade HR Ltd, and Dataplan in Grimsby have also been re-accredited.

The PQP award recognises organisations that apply best practice in the development of their payroll professionals to enable them to provide customers with the highest level of service.

The PQP accreditation scheme was launched in 2007 to provide a standard for performance management in payroll, encouraging organisations to maintain professional competence while enhancing and developing payroll skills and knowledge. Currently, there are more than 50 accredited organisations.

Mr Lindsay Melvin, Chief Executive of the CIPP said: “We are absolutely delighted that HSBC and Dumfries and Galloway Council have now joined the ranks of organisations to achieve this respected accreditation. I would also like to commend the companies that have achieved PQP re-accreditation – their ongoing dedication to their payroll staff’s professional development is a testament to the success that PQP is today.”

Dumfries and Galloway Council Leader, Ronnie Nicholson added: “I am very proud that our council has achieved PQP Accreditation from the Chartered institute of Payroll professionals.  This prestigious award is evidence of our aim to develop our staff to excel in their role and to provide a first class customer experience.”
