NOAH supports the UK Food Supply Chain summit Brexit statement

NOAH

Following participation in the Food Supply Chain summit attended by a wide range of organisations representing the breadth of UK food supply and production, Dawn Howard, NOAH Chief Executive said: “NOAH members help ensure the health of UK’s food producing animals, contributing to excellent welfare standards – part of the success story that is British farming, food production and supply.

“But as negotiations about leaving the EU continue, uncertainty is affecting business confidence, within our sector and across the whole. NOAH’s 2nd Brexit Barometer  gathered feedback on the level of progress the industry feels is being made by Government and 84% considered that Government is not progressing well with negotiations overall. And a transition period is imperative in order for businesses to plan.

“This summit represents another example of how the food chain is working together as it seeks to continue to provide a safe, affordable, secure supply of food to some of the highest health, welfare and environmental standards in the world,” she said.
