Labour councillor quits party over over ‘Jews drink blood and rape children’ furore

A Labour councillor has quit the party over an anti-Semitic post on social media claiming Jews drink blood and sexually abuse children.
Damien Enticott was suspended by the party a week ago when the Facebook post first came to light.
The Bognor Regis councillor initially suggested his account had been hacked, but later apologised.
In a statement, the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Constituency Labour Party confirmed that he had "resigned from membership".
They added: "Members of the Labour Party join to tackle prejudice, injustice and to celebrate diversity, so we take these issues very seriously.
"Anti-Semitism or any form of discrimination has absolutely no place in the party. We remain committed to challenging and campaigning against it in all its forms."
Mr Enticott shared a video titled "Jewish ritual: They drink blood and suck baby’s dick", above which he commented: "This is done only by Talmud Jews. Talmud Jews are parasites!
"They also believe any child over 3 years old that isn’t a Jew should be treated like a parasite, they believe it is ok to even rape that child it’s is worthless [sic].
"To treat a non Jew decently means that you are as bad as them. All Talmuds need executing!"
In a statement earlier this week, Mr Enticott - who was elected to Bognor Regis Council earlier this year - said he was "anti-Zionist, not anti-Semitic".
He said: "I have simply become a part of a national smear campaign that is being used to attack Labour and my only intention in politics was for my local community."
Mr Enticott said that he intended to continue as an independent councillor.
The controversy comes amid the ongoing row over anti-Semitism in the Labour party.
Jeremy Corbyn is expected to address concerns raised by the Jewish community either in a speech next week or a video message posted online.
