Robert Halfon MP is right to call for an Apprenticeship Guarantee

Chartered Institute of Building

CIOB have responded to calls for an apprentice ‘safety net’.

Eddie Tuttle, Director of Policy, Research & Public Affairs at CIOB, said:

“Apprenticeship education is among the first aspects of work and learning that have been put on the backburner during this crisis, despite the constant calls for greater parity of esteem with other forms of education.

"Construction is a traditionally apprentice-reliant industry, and the benefit of construction apprenticeships to social mobility is invaluable.

"Robert Halfon MP is right to call for an Apprenticeship Guarantee to add certainty for those taking on apprenticeship programme and add further financial stimuli to ensure that small and medium-sized businesses can continue to commit to the recruitment and training of apprentices.”
