RVPP and PSS fees are now due

The annual fee for practices to remain on the Register of Veterinary Practice Premises (RVPP) for 2014-15 is now due.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) has sent invoices to all practice premises, including those accredited by the Practice Standards Scheme (PSS), asking them to pay the fee by Thursday 10 April in order to comply with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations. Under these regulations veterinary surgeons may only supply veterinary medicinal products (with the exclusion of AVM-GSL products) from registered veterinary practice premises.

PSS-accredited practices will have the RVPP fee incorporated into the Scheme’s annual renewal fee, which also needs to be paid by 10 April. Compliance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations is checked as part of the PSS inspection process.

Practice premises that are not part of the PSS pay the RVPP fee only and may be subject to inspection by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate during the course of the registration year (from 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015) to check that they are compliant with the regulations, for which they have to pay an additional fee.

The fees can be paid by cheque, bank transfer or BACS and details of how to pay by these methods are contained on the invoices.

Practices that have questions or concerns about the invoice, or have not received one, should contact 020 7202 0767 or pss@rcvs.org.uk if they are PSS-accredited. Practices not signed up to the Scheme should contact the Registration Department on the same number or rvpp@rcvs.org.uk.
