The Investment Management Association (IMA) today publishes its monthly statistics for February 2014:

• Net retail sales were over £1bn for the eleventh consecutive month at £1.8 billion
• Equity was the best-selling asset class with net retail sales of £681 million
• UK equity funds were the best-selling equity funds for the fourth consecutive month
• IMA UK All Companies sector was the best-selling sector with net retail sales of £371 million

Daniel Godfrey, IMA Chief Executive, said:

“Strong fund sales continued in the second month of 2014 with investors continuing to favour equity funds. UK equity funds in particular are seeing the best net retail sales for some time.

“However, looking at the top five best-selling IMA sectors, investors also invested significantly into property, fixed income and targeted absolute return funds.”
