Conservative MP Charlie Elphicke has been suspended by the party and reported to police over "serious allegations" against him.
In a dramatic development in the ongoing Westminster sexual harassment scandal, Tory bosses announced last night that the MP for Dover has had the whip withdrawn.
Party chiefs have not revealed what the allegations against Mr Elphicke are, but he has denied any wrongdoing.
The MP also accused Conservative officials of tipping off the press before alerting him to the allegations.
Tory Chief Whip Julian Smith said: "I have suspended the Conservative Party whip from Charlie Elphicke following serious allegations that have been referred to the police."
Prime Minister Theresa May is due to meet opposition party leaders, including Jeremy Corbyn, on Monday to discuss proposals to bring forward a new grievance system for Westminster staff and MPs.
Mrs May also revealed a new code of conduct for Conservative MPs yesterday in a bid to stamp out sexual harassment in the party.
